Why Join AIEMnet

AIEMnet continues to grow and add benefit to our many members who share our ideals and want to benefit from the range of services we can offer. Our linkages to industry and the resource sector are huge and we also liaise with major client’s economic practitioners, corporations, councils and government to make sure all members have opportunities of gaining further work plus bring economic benefit to our state.

We are constantly meeting with clients and are always looking for opportunities and work for our members both from within our regions and from outside where huge contacts are being let for a range of services and infrastructure (including roads and the resource sector). We are also in constant contact with business leaders throughout Queensland to make them aware of what services, capability and capacity our members can offer.

Most days we forward tender and other valued information to members so they are fully aware of business and growth of opportunities. We arrange tours, hold seminars and forums so members know what is happening and to give them opportunities to network and form supply chains with like minded people and companies. We also have strong linkages with other industry associations which have major benefits for members.

AIEMnet is also dedicated to the future skilling of our workforce and runs programs through high schools, TAFE and government in the areas of training so that industry can help meet the known skill shortages that exist within our regions, Queensland and Australia. We also offer a range of discounted services to our members from a range of companies which add real value to our membership. Clients look to AIEMnet because the combined capacity and capability of our members is huge and we already have strong and proven supply chains in place with industry, like associations and the resource sector.

The outcomes for the various regions as a result of the network are:

  • Retention, up skilling and training of a sustainable and increased skill base for the regions. This at times is under threat as a result of changes in the engineering and manufacturing fields
  • Retention of jobs in the regions and throughout Queensland as a result of various business attraction strategies undertaken by the network
  • Creation of opportunities for small and medium business to expand through encouraging new manufacturing technologies, networking, sharing capacity and developing supply chains.
  • Attracting a variety of new businesses into the regions
  • A more competitive environment in which to operate and to increase profit margins
  • To help our members become aware of sustainability issues and to encourage business clusters to meet those requirements and new regulations

The key learning’s for AIEMnet are that:

  • Relationships between government at all levels and industry are essential
  • Leadership and energy come from within the network
  • Competitive barriers are mindsets only
  • Trust comes from ongoing and demonstrated commitment to the network. AIEMnet is promoting and marketing the Wide Bay Burnett, Cooloola, Sunshine Coast, Central and South East Queensland regions; as well as its members throughout other locations in Queensland.
  • That AIEMnet has an important role in shaping the perceptions of these regions and to attract future investment which will be of economic benefit and create employment outcomes.
